Gateway to some of Southeast Asia’s most biodiverse reefs, diving in Semporna opens access to legendary sites in the Celebes Sea. Nearby islands and offshore atolls feature steep walls, coral plateaus, and macro-rich slopes bursting with life. Divers regularly encounter turtles, reef sharks, barracuda, and vast schools of tropical fish, while rare critters thrive among vibrant soft corals.
Marine conditions around Semporna allow year-round scuba diving, though the most favorable months fall between March and October. During this period, seas are calmer, visibility improves, and water temperatures remain comfortable at 27–30°C (81–86°F). While short rain showers can occur outside these months, Semporna diving trips continue year-round with consistently rich marine life and reliable conditions.
